05/26/10 Pink Panther Caramel Albino Boa Babies!

I was waiting for these-from one of my favorite females. Her pattern is bold perfection and these babies do not disappoint! These all look great! One slug and 14 babies! I sweated this one big time. But I took my own advice and remained calm. Here is the story:

Yesterday I eagerly opened the drawer of the gravid mom, anticpating she might have had her babies over the night. I look down and see TWO babies. They are fabulous and perfect. I look around. Where are the rest of them?!! Lift the paper and there is mom-still obviously full of babies and resting comfortably. Uhhhh what happend?!! It looked like she had defecated a bit and shot out the two babies at the same time. They were not premature in any way-no yolks-look great. I took them out, washed them off and put them in a container. Went back to mom-she just looked up at me, and didn't seem flustered in an way. So I closed her drawer and decided to listen to my own advice and leave her alone! I distracted myself doing all the other stuff I had to do yesterday. I peeked in twice and she was just sitting there quietly. Last night I checked her a final time about 11:00 pm, again she was just sitting there doing nothing!

So close-yet so far-I knew they were in there!! But nothing to do but wait!!

This morning went in and thank goodness there they were-all pink and gorgeous in a pile. Thank you mom! So a full 24 hours between the first two babies and last 12!
