09/14/10 ANAHEIM 2010
Road trip!! What a great week-end I had. Took a flight from San Antonio to Phoenix and met up with Chris and Alliey McAra. First thing to do is see their fabulous shiba inus! Then off we go early a.m 10W to Anaheim. Past the windfarms past the mountains. Pulled up to the Anaheim Convention Center at 12:00 on the dot and unloaded our stuff. Off to the airport to pick up snakes and back we came to get all settled in. Chris and Ailley absolutely got everything together and I tried to get out of the way! It had been so long since I had been to CA that it was quite a shock when people saw me there! It was great to put the names with the faces. The California "Boa" contingent soon arrived and it was great to meet such enthusiasts! There were some awesome animals at the show and I showed amazing restraint because if I didn't have to ship my animals home I would have definately done some buying! I made my list though so I will be making a few calls when I get home this week! Of course there were Ball pythons galore! My main mission was to show our Blood pythons and that was a lot of fun to see people's reactions looking at animals they had never seen before. I was thrilled with the response we got and hopefully we can wean the Ball python people off 100% Ball pythons and the Big snake people off of 20' snakes! We aren't giving up on that mission! The auction was fun. Chris, Ailley, and I bid on snakes then sent them back up there to be reauctioned! We thought that was a brilliant idea to generate more money for USARK! We really enjoyed meeting everyone and had a great time! Thanks so much to Bob Ashley and Brian Potter for putting on such a great show! Next stop: Houston October 30-31!! Hope to see you there!!
