This female VPI Red Albino Ivory  represents quite a few generations of work since the initial VPI Red Albino and Ivory Red Blood Python Python brongersmai projects got off the ground in 1997 and 2000 respectively!

The initial goal of becoming totally self sustaining in terms of having to use no animals from the wild has been achieved. Of course we would always want to be open to Sumatran animals that provided genetic diversity or new morph additions if we needed to have additional representation of populations or mutations, but these numbers would be very small.  At this time VPI is totally self sustaining in being able to provide captive bred and hatched Python brongersmai solely made here from captive bred and hatched U.S.A. animals. This of course is just one species of many that we herpers as a whole have established in captivity, and no matter what the naysayers say they will never be able to take that away from us.
