NARBC SHOW ARLINGTON 2011
This was a really fun show-as usual Brian Potter and Bob Ashley did a great job hosting it!
Everyone seemed very upbeat and I think it was a success in every way!
Of course one of the most important things was the auction fundraiser for USARK/PIJAC.
We had a great time-and I got a Kindle at the auction, which I am so excited about! I love to read and though I won't use it to replace books (because there is something about having a book that to me seems to be essential to just have in your hands) my plan is to download the New York Times and other essential news reading material on to it. All the better to keep track of what is being written on various animal topics!
The trip up was fun, I love driving through all of the little Texas towns. Chris, Alliey and I stopped for our usual chicken sandwiches and blizzards (oreo mint chocolate for me) at one of the 5 Dairy Queens along the way.
As soon as we got to the show we realized we forgot our banner-oops-next up is a check list with all must have items. We have a really nice new banner but I guess it will remain new until the next show!
I love bringing a few of the bigger animals and this female is one of my favorites! Her head is just unreal and she has an amazing disposition, so tame. This project has been many years in the works-and this past year we hit 3rd generation captive bred and hatched.
One thing I love about the shows is getting to see everyone and catch up on projects, etc etc. Charles and Wendy Triche brought their new puppy-and I wish I would have taken his picture! I had never seen this breed before-I need to write them and get its name again.
There were people from all over including Japan and South Africa. Of course I was showing off the Blood pythons and hope to have some winging their way overseas in the coming months!
The show had lots of visitors! I'm excited that the weather at least for this week seems to have warmed up and we are heading toward spring!
