04/12/11 THE VPI 66% HET CHALLENGE!
"Why?!!" That's what most people would say about raising a group of "possible" hets. But this story has a background that started a long time ago. It seems like after 14 years, the "VPI Caramel Albino" Boa constrictor is finally getting attention for what the fans of the morph already knew: It is one fabulous looking animal!
After some recent requests with the gain in popularity of this morph as well as the "Pink Panther" version and the increased attention that Boas are getting due to us potentially being 45 days to some good news/bad news scenario, on the rule making of listing the Big pythons, Anacondas, and Boas on the Injurious species list, I thought it was a good time to revisit the story of this particular morph and answer some of the questions that seem to have come up regarding what is a "VPI Caramel Albino" and where did the "Pink Panther" gene come from.
Because this will involve some photos that I will take as I actually write this, there will be breaks, so the story is one that may span over the next few days. There is also the matter of Guy's Lacrosse games, which have taken over the number one spot of importance this week, since his 8th grade team is undefeated (7-0)!
