07/14/12 PERFECT LITTER! "TRIPLE AND DOUBLE HETS FOR VPI SNOW AND VPI SNOW GLOW"

Sometimes they surprise you and that is what happened yesterday. By my calculations we were at day 99 post shed, and in a year where our female Boas were averaging about a week to ten days late on my usual delivery date calculations (instead of 104 days, we were getting 110-115 days post shed), Thursday afternoon 07/12/12, I leisurely put in some aspen bedding for our Ghost female to have her babies in. Not even 24 hours later as I went to do my last post work check at 5:30 pm, I lifted up her paper and there were a whole lot of babies staring up at me!

Only the mom gets credit for perfect litters and this girl gets a lot of credit!! Impossible to be more perfect than this litter, and these hypo babies are the biggest I have ever seen.

The pairing was a VPI Pink Panther male x Ghost female. The results were 29 babies, 17 "triple het" hypos that are double het for VPI Caramel Albino and Anery, some of which are also VPI Pink Panthers "quadruple het", and 12 double het for VPI Caramel Albino and Anery, some of which are also VPI Pink Panthers. Wow! This is what you need to make VPI Caramel Albino snows and snowglows, so it was one of our most anticipated litters!
