Now I've talked about good odds. Lets talk about bad ones. One must take the bad with the good! The way you handle bad odds is like everything in life that doesn't go your way. Accept them gracefully. Because odds don't "owe you". Odds are not guaranteed. They are odds. Each baby or egg is independent of the next one and has no influence on the next one. Because you did not get what you wanted, does not mean you will the next opportunity. There is only one way to continue going after what you want and that is to continue to work at it and over time you will see results that hopefully will be more favorable.

There is no "I can't believe I did not get at least 1/4 or 1/2 of this or x of that." There is wow, I had a clutch of 10 het albino x het albino and I got 0 albinos! If you don't believe it can happen I can assure you it has, it does, and it will! In fact the great odds I just outlined with 8 albinos and 3 het Blood pythons was followed by a clutch of 10 eggs from het x het that yielded 10 poss hets and 0 albinos! That is remindful of the quote "the thrill of victory and the agony of defeat"! And that is exactly how it feels!

The important thing is you get back up, dust yourself off, and say, "that was a valuable contribution to a scientific data set!"

To be continued....
