10/12/18 PART 1 UPDATE 2018 BLOOD PYTHONS AT VPI!

If you are looking for Blood pythons from VPI, this is the year!! I am so excited about the babies we have hatched!

Our season was very early and almost all of our babies are already super well started!

We learned some pretty cool facts this year!

#1 The Magpie, is the "super" of the incomplete dominant Golden Eye. Not that we doubted it...but seeing the results makes it absolutely a fact that a Magpie is a very powerful, as well as a beautiful morph! We bred a Magpie x Ivory and produced ALL 007's and they are amazing looking!

MAGPIE BLOOD PYTHON Python brongersmai WE LEARNED FROM A CLUTCH WHERE THE BREEDING WAS A MAGPIE MALE X IVORY FEMALE, THAT ALL OF THE BABIES HATCHED WERE 007, PROVING THAT THE MAGPIE IS THE "SUPER" OF THE INCOMPLETE DOMINANT GOLDEN EYE MORPH.

#2 We proved that the incomplete dominant babies from our Flower morph, when bred to each other makes Flowers, and that shows the Flower is a "super" and that is awesome! It is a fabulous new morph and these babies are amazing! The incomplete dominant that makes the Flower, is also a really nice looking morph on its own!

#3 We produced more red eye t neg and may have totally rewritten what I had in my head for that project. I will need a few more breedings to confirm that I had no idea what might REALLY BE GOING ON WITH THAT PROJECT!! I originally just focused on the all red eyes, but after breeding a pair of Red eye animals together got a completely different result than I expected! I believe now that I produced a "SUPER" and it is not only an eye color mutation, but a pattern mutation. The super form which I believe is the animal in the bottom of the pic, is patterned with many more thin bands, and when it gets its red color in might look like a candy cane! I can't wait to watch these guys mature! The eye color ratio in the clutch had mostly red eye animals, but some normal eye animals also. At this point the original red eyed animals are acting like an incomplete dominant. If this animal I hatched produces all red eyed animals when bred to a normal albino eye animal, and we can produce more thin super banded animals like this one, we will get our answer.

#4 The Slackline project it turns out though seemingly multileveled and highly variable, may be way more predictable than I thought in terms of making the final level Slacklines, and this could become one of the coolest projects we have done!

#5 Vowing to rename this project originally named "Tiger" yes it is something, yes they have great contrast and are pretty, not sure how the genetics work quite yet!
