THE VPI DIARY

05/18/12 A STORY ABOUT A BOA PART ONE

As you know I love stories. We are working on a book called “Behind the Snake” and this is part of that, so I decided to put this story out here to continue on with that project and specifically for a day that was memorable, the day that FB (that’s it’s sign) goes public!

A funny thing happened the weekend of September 19-20, 2009. I was set up at the NARBC Arlington, Texas show and of course as usual distracted by a million different things. Mainly I was excited because I had some new Blood pythons out for the first time and people got to see some of them and that was great!

04/30/12 BURGUNDY ALBINO BABY PICS....

Well, this has been a ridiculous amount of time to answer a simple question! I'm writing a very short version of the story tonight because I want to put the pics up and put everyone out of their misery who has waited, and speculated, and also been quite devoted to this particular snake!

04/29/12 VPI PATTERNLESS AND 100% HET PATTERNLESS BALL PYTHONS

This clutch was worth waiting for, as all are, but I'm particularly happy to see some Patternless Ball pythons again. The cool thing about this clutch is that there are three 100% hets, and we just needed to have more to see if we can distinguish het from non het by any "marker" we can find. We know these are 100% hets because we bred a Patternless male back to a 100% het  female, so all of the normal snake are 100% het. To round out our data set we will have eggs hatching from 100% het x poss het and poss het to poss het and one final clutch of Patternless to hets.

04/28/12 FEMALE RED HEAD RED ALBINO BLOOD PYTHON BRED TO VPI WROUGHT IRON MALE BLOOD PYTHON

Here is a pic of the red head female Red Albino Blood that was bred to the male Wrought Iron Blood. She laid her eggs underneath her nest box! If you look closely at the eggs you can see some of them have a flat top because of the pressure of the styro box sitting on top of her!

04/22/12 SLACKLINE CODOM MALE X RED HEADED FEMALE EGGS

This female's head and neck are off the charts! She laid a perfect clutch of 14 and it will be very interesting to see the results. She was bred by the Slackline codom male. As you can see she did not lay in her nest box. Bloods are funny that way. Under box not in box!

VPI Pink Panthers Caramel Albino Boas!!!! What is it about these guys??!!!

Here is a baby that was born from this pair in 2008! This guy just is to me fabulous looking! When the babies were born I didn't have a clue they would end up looking this good!

Based on what I know now, I can tell you that this litter will be awesome looking as big snakes!
