A Super-Striped Male and Striped Female, Borneo Pythons
ID: A Super-Striped Male and Striped Female, Borneo Pythons
The male, here in the foreground, is now five-years-old in this picture and has become just about the prettiest Borneo we have ever seen (there are so many pretty ones, it's hard to have only one favorite.) There is a picture in this gallery of him taken in 2001 when he was a yearling, so you can see his color change.
Of course, temperament has a lot to do with how you raise them, but our Borneos are personable and friendly friendly snakes. Both of these animals are completely amiable and easy to handle.
This lineage consistently produces Borneo short-tailed pythons with extraordinary colors and patterns. A high percentage of the babies demonstrate striping, and there are several apparently different forms of striping. At this time we are not positive that the striped appearances are due to a single recessive or codominant allele. This lineage shows a great deal of variation in the patterns.
From what we have seen, we think these are the most beautiful Borneos being bred in captivity today.
