Snake Postcards
ID: Snake Postcards
Photographer:
card 1, unknown; card 2, B. Amadeus Rubel
Remarks:
The first card is hand dated and postmarked 1906. This tourist card was published by "M. Reider, Publ., Los Angeles," printed in Germany and it says that the card is "Hand Colored Work." It really is a very beautifully done image of a rattlesnake.
The second card is a color photo of an Egyptian cobra. The card was published by the Dick Deutch Co., Inc., of Hallandale, Florida and was printed in the USA. There is no institutional affiliation or date on the card; the text on the back is factoids about the species. This is probably best categorized as a "Florida herp card."
