A Drawing of a Green Python, artist unknown

When our friend John McLain died a few years ago, his wife Judy gave us an assortment of papers and other things that John had collected and kept for years. This drawing, original artwork, was among the pieces.  The drawing is signed "r.b." and it is ink on a piece of paper from an art notebook measuring 12" x 17".

Does anyone out there know who the artist might be? If you think you know who created this, please email us and let us know the name of the artist.
