Para-Leucistic Blood Python
ID: Para-Leucistic Blood Python
All of the ivory blood pythons have come from Sumatra. This unbelieveable animal came from Western Malaysia. It's possible that he is a variant of the ivory condition, but we think his is a unique mutation and appearance. We call him the "para-leucistic", since he is almost a completely luecistic animal.
He is about our tamest snake. He has bred several females in the past five years, but unfortunately, most of the females did not lay eggs--probably not his fault.
At this time we cannot say if this is an inheritable condition, but we do have two daughters from him and we are hoping that we can breed him this year. His daughters do not look like matrix.
We definitely will continue to give him opportunities to breed in the hope that we can establish his spectacular appearance in captivity.
