Boa growth...
Dear VPI,
My boa is 4 years old and about 4.5' due to an inconsistent diet before I received her.
What is the fastest and healthiest way I can get her to grow to normal adult size? Eric
Dear Eric
Growth is a matter of a spacious cage and adequate food, plus the genetic potential of the snake. Some boas just aren't very big.
I'd think that one large rat weekly would be a "growth diet" for a 4.5 foot boa, in other words enough food that your snake would do what ever growing she's going to do. She might just grow fat. 4.5 feet is a normal adult size for many 4-yr-old boas. She may never get bigger than 5.5 feet in her life. DGB
