This volume in the Pythons of the World series includes an informative account for each of the 29 species and three subspecies of pythons found in Asia and the Malay Archipelago. The Malay Archipelago encompasses the nations and territories of the Indo-Pacific islands bounded on the north by Asia and on the south by Australia, including Indonesia, Papua New Guinea, and Philippines.
The book is 371 pages, hard bound, with 383 images and seven illustrations. The book provides an account and distribution map for each of the 32 taxa. Each account includes images to illustrate the natural variation of appearance seen in throughout the distribution of that taxon.
The book covers an area of extraordinary python diversity, and there is information on several rarely seen and poorly known species.
