Orange-Blotched Blood Python

ID: Orange-Blotched Blood Python

This is a fine wild-caught snake. The lateral blotches are very pretty orange.  There is a chance that this is a naturally occurring hybrid between a blood python (P. brongersmai) and a Sumatran python (P. curtus). We do know that these naturally occur and occasionally are imported. We think it is most likely a pure blood python, but we'll have to breed it to see. The few hybrids that we have worked with had very low fertility.

This is a very pretty two-year-old blood python that we purchased as a captive-hatched import when she was just a baby. She has a very nice red-head, a trait we have demonstrated to be inherited as a recessive trait. We like her black-stippled pale areas of pattern.

This is a two-year-old het t-neg blood python. Even within this clutch of snakes there is quite a bit of variation in color. Some siblings are very red, some have black heads.

As hatchlings, blond blood pythons have a yellow-tan pale appearance--they are blond babies, but they darken as they mature to look like this three year old.

Sit down and breathe deep. This snake can make you lightheaded. This is the progeny of a VPI striped blood bred to a red-albino. It is a striped /  het-albino blood python, and it is one smoking red-hot red animal.

Red Blood Python

This is a normal blood python, not a morph and not het for any morph. Just an excellent example of the red morph of the blood python. Well, actually he does have a pretty good pale vertebral stripe, and it might be an inheritable trait, but he is not from any recognized striped lineage. We are working to create pure strains of animals that are this red. He is three years old.

This is a nice example of a VPI striped blood python. They can be beautiful red snakes. This is a subadult, about two-and-a-half years old.

Tiger Blood Python

This appearance of blood python comes from Indonesia with the name "Tiger Blood." This is an imported baby, now about six months old. What exactly it will look like when it is grown, we can't say. But it is a very pretty baby.
